Complex projects build on trust The much-needed aid came from Grundfos’ one-man sales force on the Maldives, Assistant Sales Manager, Shishir Bhandary. Together with Senior Service Officer, Karthik Munikrishnappa, he has spent the past five years getting to understand the market and build strong partnerships. “The cooperation we have with MWSC now is one of mutual trust and together we have been able to secure and develop sev- eral complex projects. For instance, we are currently doing a big project that will provide five islands with not less than 28 prefabricated PUST pumping stations in total,” says Shishir Bhandary. Interested in new technology When the many tourists visit the sunny beaches of the Maldives, they might not give thought to the many solutions and hard work that are actually at stake behind the scenes. “Because our conditions here are very special, we are always interested in new technology that can improve the quality for our customers. Time is a huge factor for us, since it is difficult to operate in an island state, and Grundfos is most supportive both in terms of design and execution,” says Engineering Manager at MWSC, Mohammed Imran Adnan, who has recently bought another huge PUST pumping station for Malé. The Maldives holds an average ground-level elevation of just 1.5 metres above sea-level. The island-state has around 140 tourist resorts and 80 of them contain Grundfos products.
