IT ALL STARTED WITH ONE MAN’S AMBITION TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE Poul Due Jensen established the company ‘Bjerringbro Pressestøberi og Maskinfabrik’ in the basement of his house in Bjerringbro, Denmark in 1943. In 1945, the company received an order for a small automated waterworks for a local farm. As it was not possible to find a good quality electric pump for the waterworks at the time, Poul Due Jensen constructed the pump himself. This pump – the company’s first – was named Foss 1, but was often called “the Pig”. It soon became clear that with this pump the company had found the product that would determine its future course.
