€ 100.000 Corporate Social Responsibility 3 Grundfos ProVIdEs rELIEf AId To HAITI Up to 50,000 people were killed and 3 million Canada rendered homeless after the earthquake in Haiti last January. No one can prevent earthquakes, United States Haiti’s massive earthquake crippled the capital city of Port-au-Prince. World Concern is on the front lines of this disaster, equipped to bring relief to those who have lost everything, supplying them with clean water, food, bedding and shelter from the weather as well as reuniting panicked children with their parents, if their parents have survived. but this earthquakes had catastrophic consequences for the people of Haiti. As social responsibility is also one of Grundfos values, we were not an outsider when it came to helping the Haiti people in the disaster. In cooperation with The Red Cross/The Red Crescent, we set up a fundraising campaign amongst employees in the whole Grundfos Group. The majority of donations were made by payment cards through Danish Red Cross' homepage but some companies made their own local collections. In some companies collecting boxes were placed in selected locations and in other companies staff made donations through their wages. The total amount of these donations has been transferred to the general Grundfos Collection so they are part of the total donation which will be doubled by the Grundfos Group. Every day the total amount of money increased and very quickly Grundfos' Collection became one of the largest contributions The Bermuda Islands from within the company. The collection among the entire Grundfos staff for the relief work in Haiti reached DKK 375,288 (€ 49,700), This amount has been doubled by the Mexico Dominican Grundfos Group, which means that the total amount donated is app. DKK Puerto Rico Republic 750,000 (€ 100,000). Danish Red Cross is very impressed by Grundfos Cuba Belize Jamaica staff's willingness to support the relief work in Haiti. The money is used Haiti Guatemala Honduras for food, medicine and other basic necessities among the Haitians.
