JOURNAL14 A DIFFICULT YEAR WITH STRATEGIC CHALLENGES The Poul Due Jensen Foundation is the primary owner of the Grundfos Group. With a shareholding of 87.9 per cent, the Foundation owns and runs the company with the overall aim of ensuring and developing healthy and sustainable growth. The Foundation was established by the company’s founder, Poul Due Jensen, in 1975 and has since developed the Group into a leading global player in the production of pumps and pump technologies through responsible ownership. 2014 has been a difficult year for the pump industry in general, and therefore also for Grundfos to some extent. The global market for pumps has seen recession, stagnation and low growth, as well as a few markets with significant growth. It has been a very changeable world to navigate within. In light of the major challenges the world is facing, we have great expectations of the strategic initiatives set forth by the Group Executive Board and Group Board of Directors. These aim to strengthen our position and renew our product portfolio with innovative solutions looking forward, to the benefit of customers, employees and Grundfos.
