POUL DUE JENSEN FOUNDATION WATER Mapping the underground with tTEM Researchers from the HydroGeophysics research group at Aarhus University have developed a robust mobile solution to map the underground using electromagnetic impulses. At this year’s World Water Week, we had the opportunity to share the technology with the global water community. “What if we were able to tell EXACTLY where there is enough groundwater BEFORE we start drilling? Nils Thorup Head of Programme, Water Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, World Water Week was turned into an online event in 2020. Building on the experience from 2020, the organisers at Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI) will repeat this exercise in 2021 with an even bigger focus on knowledge sharing and communication. The Foundation and the HydroGeophysics group presented three sessions together under the umbrella of this year’s World Water Week. The sessions offered a unique opportunity to get up close and personal with the brains behind tTEM; a new powerful tool for underground water resource mapping and management. To cater for varying audiences, the sessions offered three different different approaches: 1. A general introduction 2. A technology session 3. A data session To make the sessions more widely available, we recorded and published them. Find them here: pdjf.dk/en/article/meet-the-researcherswater-dowsing-with-science 14
