Creating something unique Studies show that pupils tend to dis- connect from teaching situations where there is already one correct answer. That’s why it is imperative to challenge them to work towards a common goal allowing for many different solutions. This setup opens up the treasure chest of creativity and inspires them to experiment. As building new things is much more motivating than chasing one pre-defined answer. The important role of teachers For the school teachers, a visit to the House of Natural Science offers an op- portunity to step back from the teaching role and observe the pupils without being in charge, explains Karsten. - Their most important task is to be curious, open and appreciative of the pupils’ ideas and keep their motivation high.
