Grundfos India and V-Excel were Awarded the MCCI-TAFE CSR Award for Thozhi Project We were honoured to receive the Madras Chamber of Commerce & Industry (MCCI), Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Award 2018 for our collaborative Thozhi Project with the V-Excel Educational Trust. Presented for the very first time, this award focuses on promoting collaborative CSR projects between corporates and NGOs. The award recognizes those who have delivered innovative projects for social good and exhibited high levels of synergy, sustainability, and measurable impact that could be replicated. The Thozhi Project focused on manufacturing low-cost sanitary napkins, thereby providing livelihood opportunities for the disabled. It also promoted safeguarding the health and hygiene of underprivileged women. The award was presented at the Annual General Body Meeting of the Madras Chamber of Commerce & Industry India that showcased a variety of highly impactful collaborative projects in Tamil Nadu. Mahathi Parashuram, Regional Head–Public Affairs, Communications & Relations, Asia Pacific Region, Grundfos said, “We are very happy to have jointly received this award with our NGO partner, V-Excel Educational Trust. The Thozhi initiative is a good example of collaboration between an NGO and a corporate to address key issues like skill development and livelihood options for differently abled youth as well as low-cost hygiene products for underprivileged women and girls.” Dr. Vasudha Prakash, Founder – Director of V-Excel Educational Trust said, “The MCCI-TAFE CSR Awards is a mark of great encouragement and pride.
