Grundfos’ Effective Pump Solutions Help Battle Monsoons India loses $7 billion annually as a result of flooding and its disastrous after-effects. In late August, 33 cm of rain essentially shut down Mumbai and even caused a building to collapse. Across Gujarat, 25,000 people were displaced owing to the threat of severe flooding effectively slowing down the state’s growth. Our country continues to take measures to combat the outcomes of each monsoon as they get more powerful with each passing year. To aid the relief effort, Grundfos has conceptualized and engineered various pumps, and our latest innovation includes the Mobile Pumping Station. As the name suggests, the system ensures it can be transported easily throughout flood-affected areas to clear out inundation. The unit comprises two pumps, each capable of discharging 200,000 litres of water per hour. These are dual-purpose units and can also be used for water supply in agriculture, horticulture, gardens and parks. It sports a double-shaft seal system that ensures troublefree operation. The dewatering pumps along with a 50-kVA generator, control panel and a cantilever crane in a weather-proof enclosure, are mounted on a movable trolley that can be hauled by a truck or tractor. With a portable and compact design, these mobile pumping stations are light-weight and operate on just one cable, thus saving the need for additional sensor cables. They are ideal for hauling it across inundated Indian terrain to ensure speedy relief to affected areas.
