POUL DUE JENSEN FOUNDATION INCLUSION You leave as a different person Three employees from Grundfos Brazil volunteered at a food distribution event in São Paolo organised by the Franciscan Solidarity Association (SEFRAS). The experience has brought both pride and motivation to the participants. As a response to Brazil’s rising hunger and soaring unemployment rates due to the COVID-19 pandemic, local Grundfos employees and their family and friends raised funds to support the project Tenda Fransiscana (the Franciscan Tent), delivering meals for homeless and quarantine kits for vulnerable families. A Poul Due Jensen Community Engagement Grant made it possible to help even more people. One Friday in November, three employees participated in the first deliveries of the quarantine kits and meals purchased with the donation. One of them was Flávia dos Santos Moreira, HR Business Partner in Grundfos Brazil. - Being face to face with people, seeing the happiness of receiving baskets and food, was very rewarding, an experience that I will not forget and will continue to perform and recommend to colleagues, family and friends, says Flávia dos Santos Moreira. The donation will sponsor 38,000 meals and 3,500 quarantine kits. SEFRAS and Grundfos Brazil have made an agreement allowing Grundfos employees to volunteer in the distribution activities. Inspiration and motivation Administrative Assistant Tatiane Balbino Ramos da Silva was also part of the delegation. She noticed that donating money, food or other things is very important and necessary, but donating your time and being present is very different: - You get there one way and leave a different person, twice as happy, more motivated to help and you start thinking about your own life, you learn to value small things and be more grateful. I loved this experience and I want to do this more often for sure, says Tatiane Balbino Ramos da Silva. Tatiane’s experience was echoed by General Manager Juan José Garcia Chiesa, who points out that being able to collaborate with SEFRAS and their team was one of the more rewarding experiences he has ever had. - Seeing how many people put their effort, dedication and passion to support and help people in need, it’s incredibly motivational. Knowing that we at Grundfos Brazil are part of that amazing crew motivates me to find new ways of helping even more, he concludes. The hope is that all employees in Grundfos Brazil will have a chance to participate. The quarantine kits also include a COVID-19 colouring book and crayons for the children.
