Grundfos Completes 20 years in India Grundfos India completed 20 years in the country on March 13, 2018. The company started with only a handful of promising employees and now has more than 350. Through this journey, we have not only grown in terms of our business, market share and presence nationally, but also have focused on helping India conserve water and energy through our sustainability focus and initiatives. We moved into our own facility in 2005 into what is India’s first commercial gold-rated green building. Sustainability is a critical part of our DNA. This is evident from the fact when in 2013, we went back for a voluntary re-certification of our building, under the existing building norms that are more stringent. Despite this, the building’s rating was elevated to a platinum rating given all the environmentally-friendly improvements that the company continuously made over the years. We celebrated our 20 years milestone internally with our employees on March 13. This was followed by a grand event on April 6, which was attended by more than 600 people, including Grundfos leaders from Denmark and Singapore, customers, distributors and Grundfos employees from all over the country. This was a great moment for the invitees to visualise and celebrate the journey of Grundfos India through the last two decades. Some of the Grundfos global and regional leaders who attended the event included, Ernst Lutz, Group Executive Vice President - Business Development, Keld Fensten Madsen, Senior Director - Planning & Intelligence and Kim Jensen, Regional Managing Director - Grundfos Asia Pacific Region. Ranganath N K, Managing Director, Grundfos India said, “We have had our ups and downs in the last 20 years but mostly ups and the trend has always been positive. Our compounded average growth rate since inception has been 21%, which is not easy in a market that is fragmented and saturated with pump manufacturers. But what makes us even more happy is to see, almost all our distributors grow, from very small beginnings to build significant businesses with Grundfos as their main partner. I am also proud of the way our team here has always tried to live up to the values of Grundfos. We have run our business ethically, fairly and with respect to all people and organisations that come in contact with us. This has been a great differentiator and I know that this will continue to be one, even as we grow from the current 350 people to 500 or more.” In conclusion, he added, “I look forward to seeing this company grow and celebrate its 50 years in India. The potential in India is immense and by 2050, India will be the third largest economy in the world after China and the USA. Grundfos needs to be a part of this growth story of India and become, not just a player among the top five pump companies, but also maintain its reputation as the most trusted and respected company.”
